You know things are different in your life when your goal for the day is to just wear pants. I mean 'real' pants; no stretch, no Lululemon and no drawstrings to boot. To keep things interesting my other goal was to put on a bra, leave the apartment and take my baby for her well baby check up at the paediatricians office.
Yep, my goal for the day was to simply wear jeans. I like to keep my post partum goals simple. Just the other day my goal was to make the bed but I never did get around to it. It felt fantastic to get dressed and leave the apartment. I had grand ideas of going out for lunch or grabbing a delicious latte at my favourite place, but that fantasy was quickly halted with the pelting cold rain coming down at all angles. However, I wore jeans and my goal was accomplished! Once we were back home I quickly traded in my jeans for pants that were stretchy and also had a drawstring!

Well, Hello There!
Mama in the City since 2008 and blogging since 2009!
My first apartment baby is now a full on boy and we struggle with finding space in our condo for his growing toy collection. I'm also a new mum to our second apartment baby, born January 13, 2012!
I have a husband who is an excellent cook and takes amazing photos. I work as a labor and delivery nurse and really love the work that I do and gave birth to baby #2 at my work place.
I use this space to write about my family and to share my passion about breastfeeding, birth and parenting. I have a fantastic purse collection and have loved watching it grow, mostly lovely gifts over the years from my husband. I currently have a closet full of purses that are too small or impractical to fit a diaper or sippy cup in, and so they are on hold for future years.
Have a question or a comment? Email me! I also love to read comments left on posts, so feel free to leave me a note!

January 26, 2012 at 8:01 AMgood for you for keeping your goals simple and achievable. It's important to keep them realistic isn't it? One of my goals in the newborn stage used to be having a shower every day. It always helped me feel better and more awake, and ready to start the day (with a cup of coffee of course). Looking forward to seeing you and Josie some time soon.
Love, Heidi
Thanks Heidi! My biggest adjustment so far is trying to get myself up and out of bed to be a mum to Ben. The mornings are a killer for me right now! Hoping it either gets easier to push through the mornings soon!
January 26, 2012 at 5:55 PMYep! We've got some good ones for sure! I love hearing from other mamas that had babies at SPH.
January 26, 2012 at 5:55 PMDo you still fit your preggo jeans? My thought is I might wear them post-partum until such time that they fall off my body. They are *so* comfy (second only to yoga pants) that I am reluctant to give them up. Plus, my tummy gets cold and the extra panel might help me suck things in ;)
January 26, 2012 at 6:49 PMFunny enough I was wearing my dark denim maternity jeans today. I definitely stretched them out with my big belly (9 lb baby!) but they still work. Probably for a bit longer but am hoping for 'real' real jeans soon. The panel does help cinch things in though ;) you are right about that one!!!
