Last week on a cool crisp blue sky day, we had the opportunity to have some professional photos taken of our family. It's always my husband documenting our life behind the lens and that leaves us with very little photos of him and the kids. When Justine Boulin, the talent behind Vancouver's B Life Photography, offered our family a complimentary family session we were totally excited!
Justine was able to arrange a time that worked around naps, preschool and everything in between and came to our neighbourhood to document us in our element. Right from the very start Justine was personable and at ease with both of my kids. It was actually pretty hilarious as Ben felt very comfortable around her and was extra cheesing it up for her.
The thing that I love about Justine is her photojournalistic approach coupled with her use of natural light. She focuses on keeping you in your element without relying on props or staged situations. For our photography session we walked around our neighbourhood, stopping for some playtime at the park and visiting special little spots along the way. We even grabbed a coffee along the way! Justine has a real passion for capturing life's moments as they are unfolding and I think you can see that in all of these photos.
B Life Photography is giving one reader a very generous photography prize package. The winner will get their choice of newborn, maternity or family session. You will also get to choose 12 edited images from an online gallery and receive a customized disk of the 12 images. You will also get to choose one 8X10 to have printed. This prize package is valued at $500. This is a really fantastic prize and I'm so glad to host this giveaway.

My first apartment baby is now a full on boy and we struggle with finding space in our condo for his growing toy collection. I'm also a new mum to our second apartment baby, born January 13, 2012!
I have a husband who is an excellent cook and takes amazing photos. I work as a labor and delivery nurse and really love the work that I do and gave birth to baby #2 at my work place.
I use this space to write about my family and to share my passion about breastfeeding, birth and parenting. I have a fantastic purse collection and have loved watching it grow, mostly lovely gifts over the years from my husband. I currently have a closet full of purses that are too small or impractical to fit a diaper or sippy cup in, and so they are on hold for future years.

In 5 short years, we have managed to have 4 beautiful children. These moments are precious and to capture them with a talented photographer are, as the saying goes, priceless! We were lucky enough to get one Family photo at our newborn photo session. I'd love to have family photos done outdoors! I have been watching the b life photography page and have already liked it. We intended on doing this right away, however, our newborn (now 6 weeks!)had to spend some time in the NICU and since she has come home, everything has been a blur- between all of our followup appointments, and getting used to life as parents (am actually pumping while writing this!) we just haven't made getting our pictures done a priority which is something that I'm beginning to regret!

I ended up in the hospital right after with severe mastitis so lets say the pictures didn't turn out so well. I look so pale blah!
