Mama in the City: How Old Are You?

Mama in the City since 2008 and blogging since 2009!

Hi! I'm Andrea, a 30 something girl who loves living the downtown lifestyle and didn't want to give it up once I started a family. I live in beautiful Vancouver city right along the seawall and three years ago I had my first baby.

My first apartment baby is now a full on boy and we struggle with finding space in our condo for his growing toy collection. I'm also a new mum to our second apartment baby, born January 13, 2012!

I have a husband who is an excellent cook and takes amazing photos. I work as a labor and delivery nurse and really love the work that I do and gave birth to baby #2 at my work place.

I use this space to write about my family and to share my passion about breastfeeding, birth and parenting. I have a fantastic purse collection and have loved watching it grow, mostly lovely gifts over the years from my husband. I currently have a closet full of purses that are too small or impractical to fit a diaper or sippy cup in, and so they are on hold for future years.

How Old Are You?

Nothing quite marks time like watching the growth of a child. There is so much potential change and so many new experiences to share, and I find it really quite unbelievable. All the things you teach and encourage, all the needs you cater to, and all the love you share. I love the amazement of that.

Anyone who has ever loved a little one will know what I'm talking about when I say, 'time goes so fast' when watching children grow. Some moments feel never ending and exhausting but in general your baby grows into a child so fast. That sweet soft baby face gradually morphs into that of a serious little boy and 2 years feels like mere moments ago. Where did the time go?

It's almost been 2 years since this little fellow joined our family, and it has been 2 years of immense growth for all. Even before becoming a mother I always loved watching children learn and grow. There is such a spurt of growth and the potential is so high.
