Just before I turned 30 I entered a cool on line give away from a blog called Koo & Poppet, it was for a sweet handmade bear with personality and I ended up winning. I had had a funny inkling that this bear would be coming to us. I really hadn't won too many things in my life and this totally made my birthday day! Shortly after finding out about the win our special handmade bear arrived to our apartment for a Mr. Ben. Just like the picture it was perfect and fun; his name is Tom Tom and he likes Benjamins and dislikes getting lost.
I have talked about this local shop before and you can read about that here and here. When Ben turned one my older sis gave him a totally lush Koo & Poppet blue velvet pillow with a "B' and a 'bear'. It hangs out in Ben's room and he pretends to sleep against it and loves to pet the bear.

Well, Hello There!
Mama in the City since 2008 and blogging since 2009!
My first apartment baby is now a full on boy and we struggle with finding space in our condo for his growing toy collection. I'm also a new mum to our second apartment baby, born January 13, 2012!
I have a husband who is an excellent cook and takes amazing photos. I work as a labor and delivery nurse and really love the work that I do and gave birth to baby #2 at my work place.
I use this space to write about my family and to share my passion about breastfeeding, birth and parenting. I have a fantastic purse collection and have loved watching it grow, mostly lovely gifts over the years from my husband. I currently have a closet full of purses that are too small or impractical to fit a diaper or sippy cup in, and so they are on hold for future years.
Have a question or a comment? Email me! I also love to read comments left on posts, so feel free to leave me a note!

I really love the photography and your baby is like the perfect little model. The pillow is so nice. Where can I get one like that? Can I get it customized? What a great birthday gift for your little guy.
October 31, 2009 at 7:28 AMHey Denise! The pillow was from my sister but she bought it through Koo & Poppet. The owner is named Sarah and she has an Etsy shop @ http://www.etsy.com/shop/kooandpoppet
October 31, 2009 at 9:11 AMIf you wanted a pillow like that one go and check out her blog. She posted some great pics of three similar pillows that she made. http://kooandpoppet.blogspot.com/2009/10/new-nursery-pillows.html
(I hope these will be active links once I post the comment!)
I can now see more Alex in him for sure. A good mix of genes hey!

October 31, 2009 at 9:12 AMI'm so glad Benji loves the pillow I bought for him. Sarah made it in such a short time and even delivered it to my door (at the time we only lived a short distance apart!).
October 31, 2009 at 9:14 AMAndrea!!! These photos are so wonderful! Thank you so much for posting, and I am so happy that Ben likes his Koo & Poppet creations. May I snag a photo for my blog?
