Things have been a little bit hectic over here, what with moving and then going back to work after my maternity leave. Can you believe that it's nearly been 2 weeks since our big move and we are still not all nicely put together? Chaos still exists in pockets of our condo. Despite the extra space we gained some of our things still don't have their own place to reside. It will happen and the real factor is just time to focus on it without the kids around. Which doesn't seem to happen too often. In the meantime things are still a bit of a jumble and I haven't yet invited any friends to come by. The extra mess also makes me edgy as I gain a lot of peace and happiness from a clean and tidy living space.
This past weekend I went back to work and things went smoothly. Turns out that I did remember how babies were born. It's the new paper work and new policies that have left me tripping. I am very pleased that I took a part time schedule and it is most certainly helping the transition to be a little bit smoother for me. Some parts of work were amazing and lovely, like the multiple breaks I had where I sat down and sipped a coffee or put my feet up and had a cat nap. It was also fantastic to spend time with my darling coworkers who make going to work just a little more sweeter.
I have so many things that I want to share with you and posts have been bubbling in my mind for weeks now. I discovered the BEST PIE IN VANCOUVER and will be blogging about that very soon. Something has shifted and my 'me time' has become very limited. Right now I should be tidying up or cleaning the kitchen but I knew that sitting down and writing a fresh blog post would give me a little lift. I'm sure other bloggers would also agree that pressing the publish button on a new post is full of satisfaction.
With a bit of Instagram magic this is what life has looked like for me the last week and a bit.

Well, Hello There!
Mama in the City since 2008 and blogging since 2009!
My first apartment baby is now a full on boy and we struggle with finding space in our condo for his growing toy collection. I'm also a new mum to our second apartment baby, born January 13, 2012!
I have a husband who is an excellent cook and takes amazing photos. I work as a labor and delivery nurse and really love the work that I do and gave birth to baby #2 at my work place.
I use this space to write about my family and to share my passion about breastfeeding, birth and parenting. I have a fantastic purse collection and have loved watching it grow, mostly lovely gifts over the years from my husband. I currently have a closet full of purses that are too small or impractical to fit a diaper or sippy cup in, and so they are on hold for future years.
Have a question or a comment? Email me! I also love to read comments left on posts, so feel free to leave me a note!

Hi there: I just wanted to let you know that your blog has meant a lot to me and my family. My name is Monica, I am 39 and live in Calgary with my husband Roland and our 2 sons, Gage is 4 1/2 and Hayes is 16 months. About 3 years ago we started talking about leaving Calgary and moving to the Vancouver area. I searched for Vancouver blogs to get a sense of what it might feel like to raise a family in Vancouver and found Mama in the City. Your blog really helped me to imagine that we could choose a different lifestyle for ourselves and our kids. One that didn't include living in the suburbs and suffering through weeks and months of bitter cold. My husband is actively searching for a job in Vancouver and we sold our house last week (in 5 days!). It is all happening very quickly which causes a lot of stress but mostly we are all very excited to take on this new adventure. I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your life with your readers. I can't tell you how many times I've read your posts to remind myself that we wanting something different was possible. Thanks again. Monica
