Over the last 6 days there has been sickness and a few growing pains in our home. Nothing major and more like just bad timing overall. Ben got sick right when we moved and thankfully when things heated up I remembered where I had packed the Advil despite still being surrounded by boxes. PSA Side note: Remember where you pack your kids meds, it will save you some stress!
Today was the first day in many days that I did not wear stretchy yoga pants or twisted my hair up bun. Instead it was freshly washed and nicely flat ironed, meaning I had 15 minutes of time that I could parent from the bathroom. Woohoo! This also means that things are on the upswing, which called for a short excursion out of the new place to check out the neighbourhood. We are seriously not very far from our old place but their is still a newness about being here. Despite the greyness that this January day brought, and the tiredness that has been felt by all, we had a momentary burst of joyful energetic happiness and danced around the park.
I'm hoping for more happy dances in the days ahead and also more chances at settling into our new home. It can be fun settling into a new home with your family, it feels like sort of like a treat to just hang out and make new memories together.

Well, Hello There!
Mama in the City since 2008 and blogging since 2009!
My first apartment baby is now a full on boy and we struggle with finding space in our condo for his growing toy collection. I'm also a new mum to our second apartment baby, born January 13, 2012!
I have a husband who is an excellent cook and takes amazing photos. I work as a labor and delivery nurse and really love the work that I do and gave birth to baby #2 at my work place.
I use this space to write about my family and to share my passion about breastfeeding, birth and parenting. I have a fantastic purse collection and have loved watching it grow, mostly lovely gifts over the years from my husband. I currently have a closet full of purses that are too small or impractical to fit a diaper or sippy cup in, and so they are on hold for future years.
Have a question or a comment? Email me! I also love to read comments left on posts, so feel free to leave me a note!

January 30, 2013 at 9:37 AMMoving is so stressful, adding in a sick kid would make it so much harder. Glad you guys got out to explore your new digs. Bonus to be near such a nice little water feature - water is so calming. All the best to you in getting comfy in your new place.
January 31, 2013 at 7:44 AMWe are neighbours! That park is just down the street from our place :)
