It's been a busy work week for me and I've had a not so great work schedule and it's left me with little down time to write on my blog. I love writing in this space and find it helps me to decompress and focused and even keep me feeling inspired. Oh, how I've have missed it! When I got off work this morning I came home to an empty quiet apartment and I knew that there was a good chance that a little blog writing might get done this afternoon.
The apartment was so quiet because my husband was off walking our boy to daycare. Right from the get go we have had a pretty unique child care situation and have been very fortunate not to have needed full time daycare or even a regular at home nanny. Over the past few months we have sent Ben off to a local Yaletown home daycare and he L-O-V-E -S the woman that runs it. She is quite like the Mary Poppins of at home day care and we are truly lucky to have found her. Today, while I slept and my husband worked from home, Ben went off to her home for a fun day of adventure. I know he will come home with many stories about his day out with Mary Poppins.
My boys absence has left me with a lazy afternoon to myself, and while I did sleep a good chunk of the day, I also took the opportunity to step outside and get a little vitamin D from this lovely sunny Vancouver afternoon. I slowly walked to the local coffee shop where I sat and sipped a delicious cappuccino, and then I lazily browsed the newsstand before picking up the current issue of In Style magazine and heading home.
This magazine will end up with shriveled corners as I'm a major bathtub reader and am notorious for accidentally dipping the edges into the bath water!
I plan to do absolutely no cooking or cleaning for the rest of the day, instead I'm going to enjoy the last few moments of this quiet apartment before my boy gets home. I've informed my husband that we are going out for dinner someplace with a sunny patio and when I get back home I'm going to get right back into my pyjamas!

Well, Hello There!
Mama in the City since 2008 and blogging since 2009!
My first apartment baby is now a full on boy and we struggle with finding space in our condo for his growing toy collection. I'm also a new mum to our second apartment baby, born January 13, 2012!
I have a husband who is an excellent cook and takes amazing photos. I work as a labor and delivery nurse and really love the work that I do and gave birth to baby #2 at my work place.
I use this space to write about my family and to share my passion about breastfeeding, birth and parenting. I have a fantastic purse collection and have loved watching it grow, mostly lovely gifts over the years from my husband. I currently have a closet full of purses that are too small or impractical to fit a diaper or sippy cup in, and so they are on hold for future years.
Have a question or a comment? Email me! I also love to read comments left on posts, so feel free to leave me a note!
