Mama in the City: Surprise and Delight!

Well, Hello There!

Mama in the City since 2008 and blogging since 2009!

Hi! I'm Andrea, a 30 something girl who loves living the downtown lifestyle and didn't want to give it up once I started a family. I live in beautiful Vancouver city right along the seawall and three years ago I had my first baby.

My first apartment baby is now a full on boy and we struggle with finding space in our condo for his growing toy collection. I'm also a new mum to our second apartment baby, born January 13, 2012!

I have a husband who is an excellent cook and takes amazing photos. I work as a labor and delivery nurse and really love the work that I do and gave birth to baby #2 at my work place.

I use this space to write about my family and to share my passion about breastfeeding, birth and parenting. I have a fantastic purse collection and have loved watching it grow, mostly lovely gifts over the years from my husband. I currently have a closet full of purses that are too small or impractical to fit a diaper or sippy cup in, and so they are on hold for future years.

Surprise and Delight!

At 2 AM this morning I graciously greeted in daylight savings and watched the hospital wall clock glide to 3 AM. It was probably the most beautiful part of working the night shift! I slept for most of the day and then lounged around and played with my boy.

So far today I have had two surprises! The first being a very delicious smelling bottle of Philosophy raspberry bubble bath from Sephora picked up by my husband. I have plans to indulge in it tonight and have a bubble bath.

The second surprise being the interesting program I watched World's Oldest Moms on CBC newsnetwork. It documented moms at 67 having babies and a 72 year old women whose biological clock went off a few decades too late. I plan to write more on this documentary later, did you happen to watch it?
